How did the Japanese American Citizens League fight for Japanese American civil rights?

The Japanese American Citizens League was founded in 1929 to protect Japanese Americans' civil rights. The League fought for remuneration from the US government for Japanese Americans who lost their property when they were interned in camps during World War II.
