The Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party occurred on December 16, 1773 at the Boston Harbor in Massachusetts. Samuel Adams and the rest of the Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and threw tea in the water to protest the Tea Act which was an act by the British Parliament to help save the British East India Company which always financially struggling. Many of those living in the colonies believed the act was unfair because they believed they should not be taxed if they are not allowed to have any representation.
