Since the goal of the idea is to make the reader read more, then the answer is D. hook. It's supposed to be like a hook for fishing that's supposed to catch the reader and motivate them to go on. Usually it's in the beginning of the paper or the article. They are usually something like a personal anecdote or a joke.
