Hi,

To solve this equation, use the Order of Operations. A useful acronym is PEMDAS: Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract.

First, solve inside the innermost parenthesis: 
(36/6)

4^2[1/3 + 4(36/6)]

= 
4^2[1/3 + 4(6)]

= 
4^2[1/3 + 24]

= 
4^2[1/3 + 24]

= 
4^2[24 1/3]

= 16
[24 1/3]

= 389 1/3
