This happens in the gospel according to Matthew, precisely in chapter 16 in the lines 18-19. Here Jesus changes Simon's name to Peter, which is based on the Greek word for "rock". After that he appoints Peter the head of the Church as he allows him to make the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.
