We have been asked to simplify

[tex] (x^3+7x^2+8)+(x^2-6x+4)(x-1)\\
\\
\text{First multiply the terms inside the parenthesis using FOIL we get}\\
\\
=(x^3+7x^2+8)+(x^3-6x^2+4x-x^2+6x-4)\\
\\
\text{Re-write the like terms together and simplify we get}\\
\\
=(x^3+7x^2+8)+(x^3-7x^2+10x-4)\\
\\
=x^3+7x^2+8+x^3-7x^2+10x-4\\
\\
\text{Add the like terms together again and simplify we get}\\
\\
=2x^3+10x+4\\ [/tex]
