Cuticle covers the epidermal layer of the leaves, young aerial plant organs, young shoots which donot have any periderm. It composed of wax, hydrocarbons and lipids. Cuticle prevent the loss of water, and helps in the prevention of the plant from any infection, dirt and damage.
