How do you write an equation in slope intercept form if the line doesn't cross the y intercept?

if the line doesn't cross the y intercept, that means it is parallel to the y intercept. the slope is undefined for a vertical line, the equation is x=a constant. For example, if the line passes (3, 5), then the equation is x=3. If the lines passes (5,3), the equation is x=5
