You can take Newton's law of gravity and his second law of motion, and massage then together to produce all the characteristics of orbits, including all of Kepler's laws.
Sadly, you also need a lot of geometry, algebra, and calculus to do the massaging.
I used to be able to do that, but it's been quite a while.
