polar compounds can dissolve in polar substances and Will not dissolve in non polar substances and same non polar substances will dissolve only in non polarsubstances .
e.g. Sodium chloride is a polar compound that'll dissolve in water ( polar solvent) and the same substance(NaCl) won't dissolve in cyclohexane ( A non polar solvent)
