First we convert 1 3/5 to an improper fraction. 1 3/5 is the same as 8/5.

To multiply fractions we multiply the top of fraction 1 by the top of fraction 2 and the bottom of fraction 1 by the bottom of fraction 2 to create a new fraction.

8/5 * 3/5 = (8*3)/(5*5) = 24/25 is our answer
