Socrates is the Greek philosopher who was sentenced to death by drinking a mixture of poison hemlock.

He was first charged for attacking physical beauty and notions of wealth of Athens saying that the mind was more important.
And then when he asked to be honored by the people, the jury got angry and sentenced him to death by poison.
