The director of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) bureau of consumer protection warned that the agency would bring enforcement action against small businesses that lacked adequate policies and procedures to protect consumer data.
The eforcement that being imposed to the business entity that has been proven to do such misconducts could happen in the form of Fine, Business suspension, or even jail time (depending onthe magnitude of the misconducts)
