I guess f(x) should be f(g)

f(g) = 3g-5

f(-1.5) = 3(-1.5) -5 =-9

f(2) = 3(2) - 5 = 1

f(4) = 3(4) -5 7

In short you replace the value of g (the domaine) to find f(x) the range
