(-5 - square root of -3) squared=

Well i assume we have

[tex]-5-( \sqrt{3} )^2[/tex]

A square root when written out is 1/2 so the 2 goes on the outside and the one goes inside the square root. So now we have (square root -3)^2

The ^2 will get cancelled with the 2 of the square root. Then we will have
-5 + -3 = -2
