3 - 14x - 11 = -6
(Combine like terms) Add 3 + -11 on both sides

(3+-11) - 14x = -6
-8 - 14x = -6

Then add 8 on both sides

-14x -8 = -6
+8 +8

-14x = 2

Then divide by -14

-14x = 2
-14 -14

x = -2/14 or simplified -1/7
