Answer: x=2.5 , y=0.75

Explanation:

x+y=3.25 => y=3.25-x ——(1)

x-y=1.75 ——(2)

Substitute equation (1) in (2) then,

x-(3.25-x)=1.75

x-3.25+x=1.75

2x-3.25=1.75

2x=1.75+3.25

2x=5

x=5/2=2.5

Substitute vale of x in equation (1) we get

y=3.25-2.5

y=0.75

Therefore, x=2.5 , y=0.75
