To find a factor you need to see the numbers you get after multiplying for instance:

What r the factors of 7?

7x1 is 7
7x2 is 14
7x3 is 21
7x4 is 28
7x5 is 35

So on and so fourth, whatever your result is in the problem, will be one factor. So this is what you would do to find the factors of 17!

The factors of 17 are 1 and 17. Factors are the numbers you multiply to get the product 17. Since 17 is prime it has only 2 factors, 1 and itself.
