Why did the Anti-Federalists push for the addition of a Bill of Rights to the United States Constitution?

because the anti-federalists were a group scared of someone having too much power over them. the bill of rights was made to protect them from the strong government they feared yet needed. it was the only way all the states would ratify the constitution.
