Answer:

Y = 4x +2

substitute Y into the second equation

-6x +2[4x +2] =8

-6x +8x +4 =8

collect like terms

-6x +8x =8-4

2x=4

x=2

Substitute (x=2) into the first equation

Y= 4(2) +2

Y= 8+2

Y= 10
