when multiplying or dividing with negative and positive numbers, if the signs are the same, the result is positive...when the signs are different, the result is negative.

so a positive divided by a negative results in a negative...because the signs are different.

but if it was a negative divided by a negative or a positive divided by a positive the result would be positive because the signs are the same.

A positive integer divided by a negative integer will result in a negative answer.

For example, (+8) ÷ (-2) = -4
