The answer is y=3

To show my work here.

1. regroup terms ( y + 3 = 9 - y)

2. subtract 3 from both sides ( y = 9 - y - 3)

3. simplify 9 - y - 3 to 6 - y ( y = 6 - y)

4. add y to both sides ( y + y = 6)

5. simplify y + y to 2y (2y = 6)

6. divide both sides by 2 ( y = 6/2)

7. simplify 6/2 to 3 ( finally y = 3)

Hope this helps, and if it does don't forget to mark as brainliest.
