the answer would be y = -7 because it'd be 9 x (-1) + 2y = 5 and then you'd subtract -9 from both sides and get 2y = -14 and then you'd divide by 2 on both sides

9*-1+2y=-5
-9*1+2y=-5
2y-9=-5
2y-9+5=-5+5
2(y-2)
y=2
