Is the maximum of the minimum the same as the minimum of the maximum?

No, it is not the same. Take 10 as an example. If that is the maximum of the minimum, it cannot go any higher than 10. If you now want to use it as the minimum of the maximum it HAS to be higher than ten. It cannot be less. (x<10, x>10)
