The goal o writing a number in science notation is to have a decimal number, with one digit to the left of the decimal point, followed by a ×10 to some power. To format the number this way, divide the 41 by 10, 1 time, making it 4.1. Each division by 10 moves the decimal point to the right one digit, but in order to keep the same number, multiply 4.1 by [tex] 10^{1} [/tex]. Your answer is 4.1 × [tex] 10^{1} [/tex].
