Yes because 8-(-4) is basically 8 + 4 which is 12.
The negative in front of -(-4) is like a -1. -1 * -4 is 4. Then add 8 + 4 = 12
(-4)(-3) is also 12 because two negatives will cancel out each other. Then multiply normally. 4 * 3 is 12.
