Solve for z.z−4/9−1/3=5/9

as you know 1/3 = 3/9
rewrite
z - 4/9 - 3/9 = 5/9
z - (4/9 + 3/9) = 5/9
z - 7/9 = 5/9
add both sides to 7/9:
z - 7/9 + 7/9 = 5/9 + 7/9
simplify
z = 12/9
z = 1 3/9

z−4/9−1/3=5/9

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

z−4/9−1/3=5/9

Simplify:

z+−4/9+−1/3=5/9

(z)+(−4/9+−1/3)=5/9(Combine Like Terms)

z+−7/9=5/9

z+−7/9=5/9

Step 2: Add 7/9 to both sides.

z+−7/9+7/9=5/9+7/9

z=4/3

Answer:

z=4/3 or 1 1/3
