Can someone please walk me through how to do this? 3/4 + 1/16

Answer:

First, you want to have them at a common denominator so the easiest thing to do is multiply 3/4 by 4 because that will put it in sixteenths.

3*4=12

4*4=16

now you have 12/16+1/16

add the numerators and you have

12+1=13

13/16
