1/5 of 20 is 4.

2/5 of 20 is 8.

Therefore, Ron used 8 apples to make his pies.

Ron used 8 apples for his pies. 20/5=4 so 4 times 5 equals 20 and if you multply by 4 on one side you have to multiply by 4 on the other. And 4 times 2 equals 8.
