If you mean

[tex](u+v)^2+2(u+v)-3[/tex]

you can first substitute [tex]x=u+v[/tex] to get

[tex]x^2+2x-3=(x+3)(x-1)[/tex]

and so

[tex](u+v)^2+2(u+v)-3=\boxed{(u+v+3)(u+v-1)}[/tex]
