To Emerson, Beowulf was considered a hero because of the
achievements that he has made. He was able to conquer monsters that are larger
than him. He was able to conquer Grendel the dragon without using any weapons.
However, the downside of his heroic deed, Beowulf likes to brag about his
achievements.
