The equation that is give to us is as follows:

  • -1 = 5 + [tex]\frac{x}{6}[/tex]

In order to solve for x we would first subtract 5 from both sides and then multiply by 6:

  • -1 -5 = -6 ÷ 6 = -1

This means that x would equal to -1 given the equation above.
