If f(x) = x2 − 1, and f(2a) = 35, then what is the the value of a?

f(x) = x^2 -1

f(2a) = 4a^2 -1 so 

4a^2 -1 = 35

4a^2 = 36 

a^2 = 9

a_1,2 = +/- 3
