ok so we see that the 2 lines are paralell

and also, oposite angles are congruent

therefor 2x-70=x+30

solve for x

2x-70=x+30
minus x fromboth sides
x-70=30
add 70 to both sides
x=100

now evaluate 2x-70
2(100)-70
200-70
130

remember that a straight line anggle measure is 180, so therefor the 2 angles 2x-70 and 5y add to 180

we know that 2x-70=130 so

130+5y=180
minus 130 from both sides
5y=50
divide both sides by 5
y=10

x=100 and y=10
