Explain how a plant cell might contain a recombinant plasmid but not be successfully transformed

The best answer to this question is:
If a plant cell contains a recombinant plasmid, it contains a foreign gene. However, if that gene has notbeen incorporated into one of the plant cell’s chromosomes, the plant cell has not been successfullytransformed because the unincorporated gene cannot be expressed.
