They brought luxuries such as silk, spices and pottery to Europe! So much so specifically in Greece and later Rome that rulers tried to ban imports from China to focus on Greek and Roman products. The Silk Road was a very important trade route for many many years and brought prosperity to all involved. It also however brought disease and allowed for easy travel route in spreading.
