In my opinion yes.  When a person has been through a tragic experience  they can break down their emotions to feel nothing at all.  Believe me I know.  Its as if the person become numb inside

I believe so yes. There is like a rare mental/genetic disorder where some people can't feel or sometimes even understand human emotion. It's almost like that part of their brain never formed. It's quite sad really.
