Frame narrative also known as frame story or
frame tale, is a narrative technique wherein a main story is composed, at least
in part to organize a set of shorter stories (a story within a story). The Book
of One Thousand and One Nights is an example of the story, whereby, the
character Shahrazad narrates a set of fairy tales to the chieftain, Sultan
Shahriyar over many nights.
