we can find slope by changing this to slope intercepts form. to do that we must isolate y.

subtract 2x from both sides: 3y = -2x + 10
then divide both sides by 3: y = -2/3x + 10/3

slope intercept form follows the formula y = mx + b where m is the slope.

m in this case is -2/3 and that's your slope
