It is the distribution property. That meas that 2(a + b) = 2a + 2b. to make sense of this plug in any tow numbers for a and b and solve. I will use a = 4, and b = 10. So that would plug into the statement like this; 2(4 + 10) = 2(4) + 2(10). 2(14) = 8 + 20. 28 = 28.
