The answer is 6.08 and here is why:

The way to find this is [tex]12.5- 6\frac{6}{14}[/tex]

[tex]6/14=0.42[/tex]  so this leaves us with

[tex]12.5-6.42=6.08[/tex]

So Lisa has 6.08 pounds of candy
