y = 2

A horizontal line, parallel to the x-axis has equation y = c

where c is the value of the y-coordinate the line passes through.

( - 2, 2) has y- coordinate of 2

equation of horizontal line is therefore y = 2

Y=2 because on a graph y= equates to a horizontal line as long as y=2 it will pass through (-2,2) and even (-3,2) or (-4,2) ect.
