Simplifying
f(x) = 32(0.5x)

Multiply
f * x fx = 32(0.5x)

Remove the parenthesis around (0.5x)
fx = 32 * 0.5x

Multiply 32 * 0.5
fx = 16x

Solving
fx = 16x

Solving for variable 'f'.

Move all terms containing f to the left, all other terms to the right.

Divide each side by 'x'.
f = 16

Simplifying
f = 16
